  Went around 2.50 today for a movie at 5 past 3, was a line of at least 30 people with one person operating the desk. very slowly. kept touching his hair and then directly handling food, totally not on.

  Ques are ridiculous. Need more staff One staff member doing tickets and food just isn't enough. Also can't keep rubbing hands through hair and handling food. Either get a proper haircut or go and get a job as a model

  I've been to this cinema a few times recently due to lack of event locally. Saw darkest hour and nearly collapsed from the heat as no air conditioning. After the movie I complained to the manager who did nothing except to point out the a4 white paper with at least 200 words on it saying they were having aircon problems. Again today the notices were up but saying cinema 1 & 2 were working but 3 & 4 not. We were in cinema 2 but still by end of the movie 133minutes it was hot and uncomfortable. Come on Monterey get your act together. In summer since November this time round I go to the movies to be entertained BUT also cooled down. Get your aircon sorted or you will loose a lot of customers for good.

  I took my grandson. The aircon was not working & there was meant to be goody bags. Only cake on the table. No children ate the cake just the mothers. We also was in with mothers & bubs which was alright but when the manager came in to ask questions I asked him to speak up which didn't really happen & my grandson answered the question & he ignored him & let the Mums answer. Leo did get a free ice cream. He only cost $7.50 instead of $9.

  Love Monterey in Upper Hutt! The movie selections, cosy cinemas with great sound quality, and the Staff who are ALWAYS amazing - so welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive and who give first rate customer service EVERY TIME! The popcorn, eats and drinks selection is well above average too! Although it’s in my neighbourhood, I’d travel for it... The total experience is just THAT GOOD! Recommend highly. 10/10
