::Worst rental experience ever! I booked a car rather last minute making the choice out of the all the cars available from various suppliers based on the image of the car. We were after an 8 seater for a group trip and also needed a rear facing child seat. Apex was certainly not the cheapest option but seemed to sell themselves well on their website and the cars pictured look, clean, tidy and relatively new. Pick up was prompt from the airport and the driver was friendly and very helpful. That's where the good experience ends. The Toyota Estima that we were given was a mess, dents, scratches, paint falling off and when I mentioned how disappointed I was in the state of the car, I got a shrug and a that's all we have. It did fall between the age range advertised but had done close to 300,000kms and showed it. The rear facing car seat requested was also forward facing, so I had an under 1 year old travelling forwards for our two days of travel which had me quite worried and very grateful at the end that we hadn't had an accident. I did mention this too but the people in the office, really couldn't care less. I was mortified to be driving this thing, however with 3 kids and 1 infant in tow, we really didn't have time to argue the issue or find another provider. I think if you're renting vehicles out you need to make sure that a. they're safe but b. they look of a certain standard, if I had had any clue on what I was booking, I would have chosen another company. I usually use Hertz and will be doing so in the future.

::Not the best, could do better, so EASILY! With myself, the disclosure of extra $ to paid, ie: to pick up the car from the airport, having paid an after hours fee ($30, fair enough), I had to pay an extra $31 to get out of the airport public carpark!? And the car, nice car, very poorly presented, dirty even. I had to buy windex and cloth, as the sindscreen was so dirty on the inside, expecially from mounted GPS units. Pull up your socks Apex, not that hard.
