::Staff was friendly, but at least half the people I interacted with told me things which, whether through incompetence or malice, turned out to be blatantly untrue. Hertz website agreed to rent me a class of vehicle (sedan) that the local office no longer carries. Local office's solution was to "upgrade" me to a class of vehicle I did not want. After returning the vehicle and switching to a different company I was then double-charged for the day I had it, in direct contravention to what at least one team member said would happen. Terrible experience and would not rent from this Hertz location again.

::Great experience! Things are very different to renting in Europe with no one on return to check the car but that seemed to be a standard practice in Queenstown with this being a small location but totally trusted them. Great Car, Friendly staff, very helpful and seemed very knowledgeable. Would 100% rent with them again and would highly recommend to friends and family. Keep up the good work!

::Never thought I'd be reviewing a car place. The actual process was OK. It was pretty simple (the Hertz Gold checkin seemed perfunctory), and the car was solid. The reason I am reviewing it months later is that I lost my watch on this trip. I had no clue where it was. MONTHS after they contacted me, saying they found watch around the time of my return and if it was mine. After I provided details to confirm that it indeed was mine, they went through a lot of effort to get it back to me. This is not normal. And that's too bad. So for the well-above-expected service, Hertz earns their 5/5 for this.
