  What a hidden gem! second time we come here over the last two years. I still remember these were the best burgers I ever had in my life. Tonight we went for the mixed platter. OMG those prawn twisters and spring rolls! Out of this world. You can taste the home-made-ness. The garlic bread made with authentic ciabatta (when you're italian it does make a difference). The outdoor setting area is dreamy, the staff friendly and attentive. Congratulations to the chef of the house. Ruakaka doesn't have a lot of places for tourists to hang around and this is the perfect hideaway with beautiful food you know it won't disappoint. They have happy hour, quiz night, Etc. Don't forget to stop by on your way to Whangarei. Big thanks from an Auckland couple.

  Warm although can be a bit noisy. The meals will fill you up and the drinks aren't too expensive. The seafood platter was not worth the price. The staff were friendly but you must order everything yourself at the bar. The decorations were interesting and there is some historical information to read around the place too. The one pool table is completely free to use. Overall good experience.
