  Beautiful hostel and an even more Beautiful host. The Kitchen is supreme (dishwasher!). Would definitely stay there again. Clean and comfy. The only minor thing is the shower which is pretty weak.

  Really really nice place, it's absolutely spotless and very homely and warm. Also Sophia who was looking after the place while I was there was super friendly and hard working

  Easily the best hostel in new Zealand. A beautiful victorian house that feels more like you are a guest in someone's (very nice) home. Great facilities, extremely clean and the owners are lovely.

  Outstanding Very clean and tidy throughout Host 'Brenda' made you feel welcome and was very helpful, so much so, I stayed 2 nights. Has a good 'CHI' feeling to the property. I liked the idea, that it was in a 'city suburb', tree lined neighbourhood but close enough to walk to town (a few minutes) and the park was literally down the street. Sit on the veranda, chill and watch the 'Tui's' visit. Would recommend 'Southern Comfort' to anyone.

  A wonderful small hostel. Great for weary walkers or bikers. Everything is very clean and well maintained by the owners and the guests are all very respectful of the place and one another.
