  NZ car rent were easy to deal with, responsive and were able to change the drop off time at the ferry at the very last minute.

  This guy was terrible! I went to rent a car for the day, and he first said "Go across the street and see if he has anything to rent you. Everything I have is dirty." I should have recognized the blow-off, but I stupidly followed his instructions. When I returned (because the guy across the street had nothing to rent), he said "I really don't want to rent to you. Try somewhere else." If he's not renting cars to people, what the hell is he doing with a business called "New Zealand Rent a Car?"
